Today being the day it is, 8th July 2008 hereto affixed to be the day my life takes a big change. I'm in uni so it's a big achievement i've even got into it. Most peeps my age would be working a double shift in McD's making ends meet so i'm pretty thankful.
It's the first time setting foot in an environment so different from previously. Thanks to an education system which always puts the spoon out for us, those days are long gone. College life can't be compared to this. You can't confine yourself to the security of 30 people to get used to your habits or tantrums. This time, it's more like 70 people and anyone gets first dibs so you can't be too picky with friends. It's either be happy or get fucked. * I'm glad there are a few Africans though. Really some interesting people. Compared to the traditional Chinese crowd we so often see flock to colleges/unis.*
So far the lecturers have proved to be impressive. The only way i could describe the criminal law lecturer is to being 'one-of-those-bitches-you-won't-want-to-mess-with-or-get-a-knife-up-your-ass' type of women. Real charismatic, assertive, confident and intimidating. The perfect equation for a law lecturer/lawyer. The consti & admin law lecturer on the other hand is one funny guy. Sarcasm together with being very vocal, he's one funny guy you'd expect to listen straight for 10 hours. The only person he'd strike me to be is of an opposition leader. You know, one of those small Chinese dudes who'd make you believe anything. A wonderful and lasting first impression.
But then again, the place sucks. It's dull and there's nothing much to do. So yea, i think it's the right place for me to do all that reading.
P/s: My average text book is freaking thick. The text book for consti & admin itself is slightly thicker than a phone directory. Imagine having 5 of those books together with add on references for materials, texts, charts and statutes. Not quite the profession people would dream of doing. Then again, what can't a karat macha do la ? LOL
It's all just an expression of inner game.
